THE GUIDANCE AND ADVICE PROFESSIONAL WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES DESERVE

I can help navigate your high-income years and make financial decisions that will support your vision of a fulfilled life.

About You

Professional women are juggling a lot, especially those of us who are part of a dual-career household. Then there is the prospect of  researching and understanding how to handle your financial life. Believe me, I understand why you might avoid it altogether.

You deserve guidance from someone that understands what a day in your life feels like, who can help you one financial action step at a time. Together we can reframe your money mindset and position your financial strategy as the key to achieving your most fulfilled life.

  • Integrity

As a fee-only fiduciary, I am bound to act in your best interest at all times when providing financial advice.

  • Stewardship

I take great responsibility in managing your family’s financial well-being and will advocate for you to use your resources in alignment with your values.

  • Curiosity

I approach every conversation prepared to listen deeply with empathy and care. You’ll know you’re in a safe space to ask questions, free of any judgment.

  • Joy

Personal finance is more personal than it is finance. I’ll help you slow down and be present in order to experience the small, everyday moments that life has to offer.

  • Kindness

“Be kind, be safe, be an includer.” A phrase I repeat with my daughter that carries over into my work. Our conversations are a space where you can be yourself and trust you have my enduring support.

Kelly’s Story

When I was six years old, my mom helped me open a savings account. As a structural engineer she loved math, and I’d like to think this was her way of encouraging me to have an interest in numbers too. My mom was a high-achieving professional, one of very few women in her field of work, and her example gave me a sense of empowerment around using money as a tool and forging a path to cultivate my own financial resources.

In college I decided to channel those early interests into receiving a degree in Finance from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. From there I spent nearly 12 years at Dimensional Fund Advisors, a large asset manager whose long-term approach to investing relies on financial science instead of attempting to guess where markets are going next. Most recently I was a Regional Director and Vice President on the sales team and Lead Chair of the Women’s Inclusion Network for employees.

As a sales professional, I often faced unconscious biases or felt isolated. This was especially true going through my pregnancies and then raising young kids in a dual career household while the majority of my colleagues and clients were men with a partner that stayed home. My experiences pushed me to want better outcomes for my female peers in the corporate world, so in 2022 I launched KKFP to help professional women and their families as an independent financial guide.

Together we navigate the high-income years and get clear on how to live a great life using money as a tool. We also address a wide range of topics such as maximizing retirement savings and understanding tax planning opportunities as a high-earner, navigating the complexities around equity compensation, saving for big life events like having a baby or buying a home, and aligning how you spend and save your money with what you value most.

On a personal note, I’m a born-and-raised Texan and have called Austin my home since 2007. My husband, Matt, and I have two young kiddos, plus our “first-born” - a German Shorthaired Pointer. On the weekend, you’ll find our crew hiking the trails around town and stopping at Tacodeli for lunch, and in the evening, we like to ride bikes and scooters in the cul-de-sac, play basketball in the driveway, and then put on a Star Wars movie and make homemade pizza.

My favorite ways to stay active are playing sand volleyball at Aussie’s and paddleboarding on Lady Bird Lake. And while I don’t cook anymore (thanks, Hubs!), our pantry is always stocked so I can bake my famous chocolate chip cookies—ask me about the recipe sometime!

Through charitable contributions and volunteer work, I hope to aid in closing the gender and racial wealth gaps over time. Here are a few causes I support:

Young Women’s Preparatory Network, a group that starts and supports all-girls college prep public schools in underserved communities across the state of Texas

Girls Who Invest education programs, dedicated to increasing the number of women in the asset management industry at large

BLX Internship program for aspiring Black and Latinx financial planners
